how do i share a sb5101 surf board cable modem between two computers?
i have and laptop and a desktop but i want to be able to share the modem. it has two ports: USB and ethernet. i have the cable for the usb and a cable for the ethernet. but when i hook it up it says its connected and i can get to the internet on my desktop but not my laptop. i need more info please.
You need a router.
You plug the modem into the uplink port on the router and each computer into the other ports on the router using network cables.
