hello, i have windows server 2008R2 OS on my server and lately purchase adaptec 4805SAS RAID controller card but the OS could not install the Driver for this product. i have searched the adaptec website and its wrote there that windows server 2008R2 will detect this product automatically and there is no need to Driver but my OS could not complete this step.
pleas help to solve this.
CTRL+A does not work and does not open the RAID utility and just a blinking cursor appears.
Please provide additional details as to any error messages in windows. Check in device manager under storage controllers to see if your device is listed. Also to configure the controller, Power on your computer. When prompted, press Ctrl+A to enter the ARC utility. You can also install the Adaptec Storage Manager software to manage the adapter with in windows.

Sounds like a harware installation issue or a faulty controller card. Try removing the card and using a different slot if available. Make sure the slot is of the appropriate type. If no other slot is available remove and replace the card in the same slot. Also check the BIOS configuration to make sure the slot is enabled and there are no IRQ conflicts. Some servers have Hot Swap slots, these are not recommended for RAID controller cards.
