Lexmark Z31 - The Perfect Device For The Office
The simplistic design of the Lexmark Z 31 inkjet printer is typified by the presence of just two control buttons and respective lights - for power and paper feed. The shape and styling too is in keeping with the modest dimensions of this entry level product, and is clearly very much rooted in the era of a decade ago when it first came on the market. The printer uses Lexmark Z 31 ink cartridge.
As with most printers in the Lexmark range, the Lexmark Z 31 inkjet is simple to install. Once hooked up to the computer and the mains outlet, it is but a matter of minutes until you can start to print. The drivers may need to be downloaded but once installed, the auto set-up regime and test printing, will allow you to get under way in about 20 minutes.
A basic paper tray has a capacity of just 100 standard letter sized sheets of paper, whilst this is easily accessed from the top of the Lexmark Z 31. Whilst no options exist to increase this capacity, there is a separate feed for single sheets and envelopes, which can be very useful for the home user. Resolution can be as high as 1200x1200 dots per inch (dpi), though speed is sacrificed.
The speed of print production can be increased up to a maximum of 8 pages per minute (ppm) when printing in black and white, and 3.5ppm for color. However, this is using the "Quick Print" setting, which reduces resolution back to 600x600dpi. When using this setting, colors can fade dramatically too. Whilst resolution is also 600x600 on the "Normal" setting, color vibrancy does improve.
The Lexmark Z 31 is further hindered by its minimal connection via parallel port with no serial port option, let alone the popular USB connectivity. It is also only easily compatible with Windows operating systems, though as mentioned earlier, XP and Vista drivers will need to be downloaded from the Internet.
Whilst this sounds like the printer is a dinosaur, it isn't entirely the case. The Lexmark Z 31 was amongst the first printers to benefit from Lexmark's unique "Accu-Feed" technology, to help reduce blockages and paper jams. Still used today, it does help when doing volume printing particularly.
Other pluses come from the near laser quality printing of photographs. Whilst the speed is slow, the maximum setting will give you rich and deep reproductions. When printing to photo paper too, a professional finish is returned. Only use Z 31 ink with this printer.
The printer is provided as standard with one black and one three-color Lexmark Z 31 ink . Replacing the toner is as easy as you would expect; simply by lifting the hood. The Lexmark Z 31 isn't a bad option for use as a second printer. It could also be quite useful as something for the young kids to play with. For heavy users and those with a demanding need for quality it won't cut the cloth however.
how can I add the bluetooth port into the printer serial port category?
trying to use a bluetooth adapter to connect my printer to my laptop(with bluetooth adapter too), but the laptop says it couldnt find the specific port when I tried to install the printer, the manual shows a picture that it seems it suppose to be a bluetooth port, so I want to know how do I add the new kind of port into the category, where can I download or get it, thanks

FreeRDP Demo (Thincomputing)
FreeRDP is a free implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP),
released under the Apache license and it is actually pretty cool. Our previous
stable release, 0.8.2, is more than a year old and lacks an incredible amount
of features which can now be found in 1.0. In the meantime, we planned a 0.9
release [...]
