Ok so i am very nervous because i bought a SYBA PCI to Firewire 1394a 2+1 ports controller card (VIA) Model SD-VIA-3F for my Sony DCR-HC52 Handycam and i need to know if it works with the Dell Inspiron 530 Desktop if it doesn't im fuked so please tell me if it works

> a Pentium 4
> a Pentium Dual Core
or
> an Intel Core™2 Duo
so there's more than enough processor there to handle 1394a (which is slower than USB2),
(My Celeron based PC's can drive USB2)
the only Questions that remains for you is,
a> what OS is your PC using XP / Vista or / 7 (I'm guessing Vista)
b> what drivers are provided with the 1394a Card
c> what drivers are available from the Mfg. for the card
if you have the correct drivers
or can get the correct drivers for the OS
or the "built in" generic drivers are available
and have a free PCI slot
you should have no problems using that card in your PC.
if you have XP, or Vista you should be able to get the Drivers, or use built in generic drivers, if you've installed windows 7 you may have trouble locating Mfg. drivers but there may be a generic driver available in win7
