Michael Djupstrom, piano
Djupstrom's performing venues include the Tanglewood Music Center, the University of Michigan, the University of Minnesota, and "A Capitol New Year" New Year's Eve celebration in St. Paul, Minnesota. His compositions have been performed by the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra, the Tanglewood Festival Chorus, Brave New Works, the New Fromm Players, the University of Southern California Wind Ensemble, the Northwestern University Symphonic Band, and the Eastman Wind Orchestra, among many others. In 2005, Djupstrom completed his M.A. in composition at the University of Michigan School of Music, from which he also received his B.M. His piano teachers have included Lynne Bartholomew, Sergio de los Cobos and Katherine Collier. His composition teachers have included Bright Sheng, Susan Botti, William Bolcom, and Karen Tanaka. |
