Connect a notebook screen ribbon cable to a pc via vga adaptor or other means?
I've got a notebook with a dead motherboard/graphics and want to salvage its beautiful lcd screen. Do there exist ribbon cable-to-vga converters, or is there some other way to turn the screen into an external monitor?
Where can I get the hardware controller to do such thing!! i know it costs a lot
First of all, I don't believe there is such a thing. Second of all, with today's electronics prices, why waste money in making it a monitor for your computer, when you can get a nice 17" for under $200. Third of all, your friends wont say, "wow man, you seriously wasted your time and money for that...". lastly, ebay the laptop as parts and use the money made to buy the new 17" lcd screen.
