With the faster of two least BlueProton reader/writers which I eff I get a someone fastness of around 16.5 MBytes/sec. when using the 32 GB Class 10 Card. And that is plenitude prompt for me. Most of the SD card I hump are Transcend since I expect the marque. But I hump yet to jazz a problem with any Card. Plane so, I sort a prolix championship of the most influential files honorable to be on the unhazardous sidelong since you never pair. "
eSata Controller... Advice Please.?
Hi everyone,
I recently bought a 1.5TB external drive with eSata/USB/FireWire capability.
I bought an eSata PCI-Ex controller but my Win2K8 server wouldn't even recognise it. It was cheap... c'est la vie. Currently using USB 2.0 but damn it's slow.
I'm thinking about getting this one... http://www.promise.com/product/product_detail_eng.asp?segment=Non-RAID%20HBAs&product_id=168
The thing that concerns me is that it says "Supports up to 2TB of storage per controller (500GB HDD x 4-ports)".
I'm looking for advice on whether or not this eSATA controller is any good, and what some alternative controllers are. I'd rather have a PCI based controller than a PCI-Ex based controller since I have other things I'd rather put in the PCI-Ex slot.
Thanks Phil T. I have no spate onboard Sata left I've used them all as I have a large RAID array going, so I need to get a controller card.
When you say eSATA is it because you already have internal SATA ?
If that is the case (& you have 1 or 2 free internal SATA ports) why not just get an eSATA plate :

Anyways, I am familiar with Promise Technology products & they are very reliable. I think you can go for it worry free.
